Operation Jetsons

This is a test story to tell you a little about Operation Jetsons. My hope is to inspire some innovation by providing machines to the group in the hopes of building cool digital home servants. I would like to get a list of projects that the group would like to see implemented, and we can vote on a project to undertake. Whomever volunteers to build, document and teach the group can keep the test rig loaned to them by LUGOT. Project suggestions are meant to convey an idea of the purpose of the rig, and the volunteer could choose to do some research to find something superior to the proposed project. Suggested implementations so far include:
-MisterHouse
-ZoneMinder
-Bar Monkey (http://slashdot.org/articles/03/01/10/1343224.shtml?tid=133)

Personal database
There are some good project ideas already, but I'd like to see something that would help store organize and present information, stored centrally, in a useful way.
Particularly recipes, grocery lists and kitchen inventory but also things like a personal knowledge base for various subjects, task lists, etc.
Unfortunately, I don't know of anything that can do all of this well. I've used mediawiki, which I thought was quite nice and would like to see it join the project list, however, it would require a lot of work to keep up with constantly changing lists and formatting recipes in an easily readable way.
Does anyone know of anything that's good at serving kitchen related stuff?

I'd like to see MythTV, or some variant thereof. I've always aspired to build one but never had the hardware to make it happen, specifically the video card.
I have one DVR now and I'd like to 'give it back' to the provider in favor of my own DVR and I can pull the content I want from the web in place of paying for the digital package.
So, my vote is for MythTV.
